The Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong invites you to this joint Nordic Chamber`s Breakfast Seminar

“How to Manage a Successful Business in China”

A seminar on how the platitude “China is different” still plays a role,
but also about how the assertion of “uniqueness” can be a serious stumbling block for expatriate managers.

Do expatriate managers fail to trust their own instincts and sometimes allow respect for “cultural differences” to overshadow common sense?

Our invited speaker, Johan Björkstén, has lived in China for almost 20 years and runs his own business, speaks fluent Chinese and has written books about China before but this is his first book on the topic ; “How to Manage a Successful Business in China”, written together with Anders Hägglund.

Mr. Björksténs speak will be based on the invaluable practical experience of entrepreneurship and Mr. Hägglunds experience as an expat CEO setting up a multinational operation in China. This morning you will learn widely applicable advice based on experiences from different industries, including, but not limited to those of the authors and provide highly relevant, practical advice, as well as concrete and illustrative examples from the authors' own experience.

Mr. Björkstén succinctly explains how historical, cultural and social factors influence today's Chinese business environment, and how managers should take this into account in day-to-day operations.
