AWA Asia

AWA Asia combines intellectual property law with local business knowledge. We support IP rich companies of all profiles and the world's well-known brand owners in their IP and related regulatory, transactional and dispute resolution needs in Europe and Asia. Our approach to service delivery is business minded, pragmatic and tailored.

Our strong value proposition consists of our East-meets-West perspective, our bilingual and bicultural capabilities, and our ability to provide assistance in our clients' differing time zones. Given the competitive legal landscape, we ensure that we remain client-centric and have been singled out for our innovative practices by Asian Legal Business (ALB) in their annual list spotlighting organisations that are making waves with their innovative approaches in 2016 and 2017.

In Hong Kong, where AWA Asia is headquartered, we can handle all aspects of IP portfolio management directly before the Hong Kong IP Department. Our wholly owned subsidiary in China, AWA IP (Beijing) Co Ltd, is a locally licensed intellectual property and trademark agency which can file and enforce trademarks in China directly before the Trademark Office and administrative authorities.

The importance of having experienced local advisors for the management and enforcement of IP portfolios has never been more critical to industry players in the Chinese market in order to stay competitive and relevant in the face of new market entrants, and also to effectively tackle problems that come with IP disputes such as infringements and piracy.

AWA Asia's seasoned professionals have legal backgrounds and qualifications from China, the UK, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan. It is our local knowledge together with our international quality of work delivered by our experienced teams in Beijing and Hong Kong that comprises our unique offering, and which enables us to be recognised as one of the leading Pan-European Asian IP specialist firms with an exceptional reputation in all aspects of contentious and non-contentious IP work.

AWA Asia is the Asian arm of AWA Group. AWA was founded in 1897 and brings almost 120 years of experience to our clients. The company was founded by the Swedish engineer Anders Wilhelm Anderson (hence the company name AWA). We help our clients turn ideas and innovations into business opportunities. With 160 IP attorneys and almost 300 employees across 16 offices in Sweden, Denmark, Germany and China, we are a premier intellectual property firm, with some of the most successful companies in the world choosing us as their strategic partner.
