Flexworks develops and manufactures advanced electronics products for customers of all sizes across the world. We offer a full range of services from initial feasibility studies to full mass production and we specialize in medium volume projects that are too complicated for most to handle. We don’t market any products under our own name, but some of our customers are very well known brands on the consumer and professional market. We have approximately 130 employees in our offices in Hong Kong (HQ), Sweden and China, and another ~300 employees in manufacturing.
About the positions:
Does number crunching and analysis get you going? Do you want to work in a fast-growing company with world leading brands as customers? Then this might be the job for you.
About the position
We are looking for an analytical and well organized business analyst. Your main responsibility will be to make sure we always have an accurate view of product cost, both during the development phase and later in mass production. You will also support the Head of Corporate Development with various business controlling assignments, e.g. project and customer profitability analyses.
The role is junior to start with, but for the right candidate, we offer the possibility to learn and grow within a fast-growing entrepreneurial company. You will have much influence over your work and will get a lot of insight into electronics development and manufacturing.
You will report to the Head of Corporate Development and will work closely with our Project Managers, our Sourcing/Purchasing department and our General Manager in China.
The position is based in Hong Kong but requires that you spend on average 2 days per week in our facility in Huizhou, China.
You must enjoy and have a talent for working with numbers and analysis, and have very good Excel skills. You are thorough and systematic and can work independently. You must speak, read and write Chinese (Mandarin is a must, Cantonese is an advantage) and as your manager and some colleagues don’t speak Chinese, your English must be good. We believe you have a BSc or MSc in engineering, business administration or similar and have either just graduated from university, or have a few years’ work experience. You are straightforward with a can-do attitude and very high integrity.
CTO or VP Development and Engineering
Do you have a genuine passion for technology and product development? Are you a nerd at heart that still do detailed design work? Are you a hands-on, entrepreneurial leader who want to work in a fast-growing company with world leading brands as customers? Then this might be the job for you.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Vice President Development and Engineering to lead our development department. You have a strong background in electronics design and of leading product development. We take pride in building technically outstanding products so you must have a genuine passion for technology and expert knowledge as well as the ability to mentor, encourage, teach and develop younger talent within the company. Ideally you are very good at RF, antenna design, DFM, analog, digital, mixed mode circuitry, audio circuitry, acoustics, and cost effective solutions. And what you don’t know, you love to learn. Experience and understanding of DSPs, small MCU firmware, apps, mechanics and materials is a great bonus.
About the position
The VP Development and Engineering leads the work in our R&D department, with ~25 engineers based in China and coordinate with our Stockholm office as well. You report directly to the group CEO and you will have the overall technical responsibility for all activities related to the design and development of products. Our Technical Project managers will handle day to day team and customer issues on customer projects but you will be involved on the technical side as well as running our internal development projects and looking at new strategic opportunities.
You are responsible for managing, retaining and continuing to build the R&D organization and continue a strong tradition of technical excellence. In addition to the development department, you will work closely with our group CEO, our Project Managers, our General Manager in China and our Head of Quality.
The position requires that you spend on average 2-3 days per week in our facility in Huizhou. For a Hong Kong based candidate, it is however possible to be based in and work a few days per week from our Hong Kong office. There will also be occasional international travel to our Stockholm office and to key customers.
You must have a genuine passion for technology and electronics and have a proven track record of successfully leading product development teams and designing complex and difficult electronics. You will lead by example and set the technical bar of excellence by hands-on leading the development of innovative technologies and solutions. You probably have experience from working in a smaller/mid-size, entrepreneurial company and you need to have experience from working in mainland China. If you speak Mandarin, it is a big plus, but it is not a requirement. We believe you have an MSc or PhD in engineering in a relevant field, e.g. electronics, physics, but actual knowledge is more important than formal education. You are down to earth, straightforward and have a can-do attitude. Expert knowledge, understanding and product development experience is more important than management experience. We expect you to be our best engineer!
