In a recent interview published by Swedcham member Loeb Smith, Corporate and Finance Partner Peter Vas shares his professional background, as well as his views on current market developments and trends in the Asian legal market.

Peter is based in Loeb Smith's Hong Kong office, and advises on British Virgin Islands and Cayman Islands law. Having worked in Hong Kong since 2015, Peter joined Loeb Smith in 2020, and has consistently been focusing on a mix of banking & finance, corporate and restructuring matters. Among recent trends in the Asian financial markets, Peter mentions how 2021 was arguably the best year on record in terms of investment activity, which he attributes to the fact that investor appetite was strong across companies in all stages of their life cycles. For the future, Peter also predicts that the trend of Chinese companies being taken private from NASDAQ and the NYSE will continue, and that the British Virgin Islands will remain an attractive hub for fintech businesses issuing non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and other digital tokens.
