Announcement: New General Manager
The Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong is today announcing that Christian Bergenstråhle has been appointed as the chamber’s new General Manager. Christian is a familiar face to many in the chamber, having held the GM position during 2020 and 2021. Christian has an extensive background in marketing and communications. In addition to his previous experience with SwedCham, Christian has also worked or consulted in Hong Kong for the Consulate General of Sweden and Nordic Innovation House.
SwedCham’s chairman Kristian Odebjer commented:
“We are happy to have Christian back at SwedCham. With him in charge, I am at ease that our chamber will maintain its focus and momentum. I look forward to working with Christian, and to seeing him build on the impressive legacy left by our departing GM, Gabriella Augustsson. I think we still have room to grow in terms of member initiatives, as well as within our important advocacy work.”
Added Christian Bergenstråhle:
“I am excited to be re-joining SwedCham. I already have a number of ideas that I want to test with the board, and eventually set into motion with their blessing. In addition, the collaborative spirit that exists within Swedish government and business organisations on ‘Team Sweden’ has always been impressive, and I look forward to contributing to the overall Swedish effort in Hong Kong and beyond. With the emergence of the Greater Bay Area as an integrated economic area, I can see that making the opportunities of the GBA accessible to SwedCham members, potentially in partnership with our mainland ‘sister’ chamber, will be a particularly interesting challenge.”
Christian Bergenstråhle starts his position on June 23, 2025.
