Pragmatism & Progress: A Word From Our “New” GM

Dear SwedCham Members & Friends,

After a summer spent recharging in Spain, South Africa and Sweden—with ample doses of food, friends, and perhaps too much sun—I’m thrilled to be back in Hong Kong, energized and ready to embark on an exciting year ahead with all of you.

There’s something special about the SwedCham community: that unique blend of Swedishness, Swedish pragmatism, warmth, and innovative spirit that turns ideas into action. This year, we’re doubling down on what makes us strong—a network built by members, for members.

Here’s what’s brewing:

• New Concepts: Turning ambition and knowledge into impact, together. Watch out for our new concept “The Lunch Lab” that will be launched soon.

• Exclusive Member Value: New initiatives designed to connect, inspire, and support your goals. We are in the process of starting a big AI project and a potential new membership system so that we can do a better job connecting members.

• Crayfish Party & Beyond: Celebrating tradition while creating fresh opportunities to engage.

• Committees: Sustainability, Tech & Innovation, Young Professionals….we have engaged members who really want to make a difference. Get on board if you are curious about any of these areas, open to all members.

But none of the above happens without you. Whether you’re a longtime member, a returning member or new to our community, your voice matters. Share your ideas, your expertise, or simply join us for fika—because the best collaborations often start with a coffee and a chat. And remember, we welcome everyone, you do not have to be Swedish. You just have to like our Swedish values and be curious to learn more.
