The company is a subsidiary to Svenska Ostindiska Kompaniet AB (SOIC). The ship Götheborg of Sweden is owned by SOIC (Svenska Ostindiska Companiet AB). SOIC is also the owner of Rederi Götheborg AB, that bare boat charters Götheborg. SOIC a wholly owned subsidiary of the Greencarrier Group. Götheborg of Sweden is the world's largest ocean-going wooden sailing ship and an 18th century replica of the original Götheborg that sank outside of its homeport, Gothenburg while approaching the harbour on her return from a third voyage to China. All sailors survived when the original ship sank on 12 September 1745. A new expedition to China is planned for 2025 and the company will seek partners and sponsors to said journey.
