Having now been at the Chamber for 3 months, we wanted to ask Jennifer some questions of her impressions of Hong Kong and the Chamber!

  1. So Jennifer, who are you? And what are you doing at the Chamber?

I grew up in Stockholm, Sweden and was surrounded by music during my whole upbringing. Having graduated from Stockholm School of Economics this summer, I joined the Chamber this September and am currently responsible for the Chamber’s marketing and communications.

  1. What is your first impression of Hong Kong? Was it like you expected?

Such a vibrant city with lots of things happening every day! Even though the current prevailing circumstances have called for strict restrictions throughout the city, this does not stop the people of Hong Kong to come up with clever and creative solutions. Truly never a day goes by without being dynamic, and it shows in the weather as well – from dark opaque clouds with waterfall-like rain to strong bright sunrays in just a blink of an eye!

  1. Now when you have worked for the Chamber a few months – what do you see the benefits are for the members?

Even if we are a small team here at SwedCham HK, I am every other day amazed of the creative ideas, solutions and the “can-do” attitude we have at the office; constantly trying to find opportunities and new ways for value creation. Concrete examples are the newly launched initiatives as well as the virtual Crayfish Party we hosted in the middle of October. We are here by our members, for our members, where supporting and promoting our members and creating membership value truly is central in everything we do.

  1. What do you miss most about Sweden?

Family, friends and being able to navigate in the city! Since coming to Hong Kong, I have struggled to find how to get from point A to B and Google Maps is not very accurate every time. Back in Stockholm I could easily find my way around in the city.

  1. Do you have any hidden talents?

I have performed in orchestras and ensembles for various birthday celebrations and galas for the Swedish royal family.
